    From the host

This is the sponsored board for Chicago: 77 community areas along Lake Michigan and the branches of the Chicago River, and the Chicagoland suburbs around them. One page where the city's businesses, events, venues and causes put themselves in front of people looking for what's happening locally.

Every ranked listing on this board is a paid placement. Sponsors bid for a spot, and the order is set by one thing only: the total each sponsor has bid in the current round. Nobody is ranked by reviews, editorial picks or an algorithm. Outbid a listing above you and you move up; the next sponsor can do the same.

Chicago runs on its seasons. Summer means the lakefront path, the beaches and neighborhood street fests; winter means the wind off the lake and anywhere warm. All year the city argues about deep-dish or tavern-style thin crust, Italian beef dipped or dry, and which neighborhood does it right. Its motto says what it wants to be: Urbs in Horto, a city in a garden.

It's for anyone with something Chicago should know about: a restaurant opening in the West Loop, a taqueria in Pilsen, a jibarito spot in Humboldt Park, a coffee bar in Wicker Park, a blues or house night on the South Side, a gallery show in Bronzeville, a new shop in Andersonville or a service business in Evanston, Oak Park, Naperville or Schaumburg.

Each listing links straight to the sponsor's own site. Links are marked as sponsored, and every listing is reviewed against the board's rules.

    Questions

    How is the order decided?
By the total each sponsor has bid in the current round, highest first. Nothing else moves a listing: no reviews, no editorial picks, no algorithm.
    Is every listing an ad?
Yes. Every ranked listing on this board is a paid placement, and each link is marked as sponsored.
Can a business in Evanston, Oak Park or the suburbs list here?
Yes, if it has a Chicago connection, and Chicagoland counts. A shop in Evanston, a restaurant in Oak Park, a clinic in Naperville or a service business in Schaumburg or Joliet that serves Chicagoans belongs here as much as one in the Loop. Listings are reviewed against the board's rules, and ones that break them are removed.
Can a street fest, a pop-up or a nonprofit drive be listed?
Yes. The board is for anything with a Chicago connection: a neighborhood street fest, a church fish fry, a pop-up in an empty storefront, a food truck, a storefront theater run or a winter coat drive. Each listing links to the sponsor's own site, and every listing is reviewed against the board's rules.
What does a spot on the Chicago board cost?
You choose your bid; the minimum on this board is $10. A service fee is added on top, and checkout shows the full total before you pay. To move up, raise your bid; you pay only for the raise. When a round closes, its final order is kept in the board's archive and a new round opens.
