    From the host

Dallas began at a white rock crossing on the Trinity River and has been building outward ever since: glass towers and a deck park downtown, the Arts District, the old blues rooms of Deep Ellum, the brick storefronts of Oak Cliff across the river, and suburbs that run north past Plano and Frisco. The Trinity still winds through the city, with the Great Trinity Forest and its trails to the southeast, and White Rock Lake sits to the northeast.

The seasons are big here. Bluebonnets line the highways in spring, storms roll across the prairie, summers are long and hot and spent on patios and at the lake, fall means fair season, and a winter ice storm can shut the city down for a day. In between there's Tex-Mex and barbecue, taquerias along Jefferson Boulevard, chicken-fried steak, and kitchens from around the world in Richardson, Carrollton, Garland and Irving.

This is the sponsored board for Dallas: one page where the city's businesses, events, venues and causes put themselves in front of people looking for what's happening locally.

Every ranked listing here is a paid placement. Sponsors bid for a spot, and the order comes down to one thing: the total each sponsor has bid in the current round. There are no reviews, editorial picks or algorithms deciding who goes where. Outbid a listing above you and you move up; the next sponsor can do the same.

It's for anyone with something Dallas should know about: a restaurant opening in Bishop Arts, a food truck in Deep Ellum, a gallery show in the Design District, a Lower Greenville patio, a pop-up market in the Cedars, a school fundraiser in Pleasant Grove, a new shop on Knox Street or a service business in Plano, Garland, Irving or Mesquite.

Each listing links straight to the sponsor's own site. Links are marked as sponsored, and every listing is reviewed against the board's rules.

    Questions

    How is the order decided?
By the total each sponsor has bid in the current round, highest first. Nothing else moves a listing: no reviews, no editorial picks, no algorithm.
    Is every listing an ad?
Yes. Every ranked listing on this board is a paid placement, and each link is marked as sponsored.
Is this board only for the city of Dallas?
It's for anything with a Dallas connection. That covers the city's own neighborhoods, from West Dallas and Oak Cliff to Lake Highlands, Vickery Meadow and Pleasant Grove, and the places around them in Dallas, Collin, Denton and Rockwall counties, such as Plano, Richardson, Garland, Irving, Mesquite, Carrollton and Frisco. A Fort Worth or Arlington business with Dallas customers fits too.
Is there a separate list for each part of Dallas?
No. There's one board for the whole Dallas area, and every ranked listing on it, from an Oak Cliff cafe to a Frisco dentist, is ordered by the total each sponsor has bid in the current round. To move up, raise your bid; you pay only for the raise. When a round closes, its final order is kept in the board's archive and a new round opens.
What kinds of Dallas listings fit here, and what does a spot cost?
Restaurants and patios, salons and studios, contractors and movers, shows and gallery nights, markets, church and school fundraisers, and nonprofits across the city all fit. You choose your bid, starting at $5. A service fee is added on top, and checkout shows the full total before you pay. Listings are reviewed against the board's rules, and ones that break them are removed.
