    From the host

Denver was founded in 1858 where Cherry Creek meets the South Platte River, on the high plains a mile above sea level, with the Front Range filling the view to the west. It grew from a gold-rush camp into a city of red-brick bungalows, tree-lined parkways and lakeside parks, with trails along both waterways and city-owned mountain parks in the foothills.

The weather keeps everyone guessing: bright winter days between snowstorms, spring snow that melts by the weekend, afternoon thunderstorms and hail in summer, and aspens turning gold in the mountains each fall. Weekends often mean a drive up I-70 to ski or hike. Closer to home there's green chile, taprooms, pho and tacos on Federal Boulevard, First Friday art walks on Santa Fe Drive, jazz history in Five Points and stock show season every January.

This is the sponsored board for Denver: one page where the city's businesses, events, venues and causes put themselves in front of people looking for what's happening locally.

Every ranked listing on this board is a paid placement. Sponsors bid for a spot, and just one thing sets the order: the total each sponsor has bid in the current round. Reviews, editorial picks and algorithms play no part. Outbid a listing above you and you move up; the next sponsor can do the same.

It's for anyone with something Denver should know about: a taproom opening in RiNo, a green chile spot on Federal Boulevard, a gallery show on Santa Fe Drive, a bike shop in Baker, a pop-up market in Highland, a jazz night in Five Points, a school fundraiser in Montbello or a roofer, ski tuner or snow-removal crew serving Aurora, Lakewood, Arvada and Littleton.

Each listing links straight to the sponsor's own site. Links are marked as sponsored, and every listing is reviewed against the board's rules.

    Questions

    How is the order decided?
By the total each sponsor has bid in the current round, highest first. Nothing else moves a listing: no reviews, no editorial picks, no algorithm.
    Is every listing an ad?
Yes. Every ranked listing on this board is a paid placement, and each link is marked as sponsored.
Which parts of the Denver area fit on this board?
Anything with a Denver connection: the city's own neighborhoods, from Sunnyside and Berkeley to Park Hill, Montbello and Green Valley Ranch, and the metro around them in Adams, Arapahoe, Jefferson, Douglas and Broomfield counties, from Aurora, Lakewood, Arvada and Westminster to Englewood, Littleton, Centennial and Castle Rock.
Can a business in Boulder, Golden or a mountain town list here?
If Denver is who you serve, yes. A Boulder studio with Denver clients, a Golden taproom, a ski rental on the way up I-70 or a guide service in the foothills all have a Denver connection. Listings are reviewed against the board's rules, and ones that break them are removed.
What does a spot cost for a small Denver business?
You choose your bid, starting at $5. A service fee is added on top, and checkout shows the full total before you pay. To move up, raise your bid; you pay only for the raise. When a round closes, its final order is kept in the board's archive and a new round opens.
