From the host
Los Angeles is a city of neighborhoods spread between the mountains and the Pacific, from the San Fernando Valley and the Eastside to the Westside, South LA and the harbor at San Pedro. It keeps its own calendar too: farmers markets all year, May Gray and June Gloom along the coast, jacarandas turning streets purple in late spring and Santa Ana winds in the fall.
This is LA's sponsored board: one page where the city's businesses, events, venues and causes put themselves in front of people looking for what's happening locally.
Every ranked listing on this board is a paid placement. Sponsors bid for a spot, and the order is set by one thing only: the total each sponsor has bid in the current round. Nobody is ranked by reviews, editorial picks or an algorithm. Outbid a listing above you and you move up; the next sponsor can do the same.
It's for anyone with something Angelenos should know about: a taco truck in Boyle Heights, a Korean barbecue spot opening in Koreatown, a Lunar New Year menu in the San Gabriel Valley, a gallery show in the Arts District, a record store in Highland Park, a jazz night in Leimert Park, a surf lesson in Venice, a food drive in South LA or a service business in Long Beach, Pasadena, Glendale or Santa Monica.
Each listing links straight to the sponsor's own site. Links are marked as sponsored, and every listing is reviewed against the board's rules.

Questions
- How is the order decided?
- By the total each sponsor has bid in the current round, highest first. Nothing else moves a listing: no reviews, no editorial picks, no algorithm.
- Is every listing an ad?
- Yes. Every ranked listing on this board is a paid placement, and each link is marked as sponsored.
- Can a business in Long Beach, Pasadena or Santa Monica list on the Los Angeles board?
- Yes. The board is for anything with a Los Angeles connection, and that doesn't stop at the city line: a shop in Long Beach, a cafe in Pasadena or a contractor in Santa Monica belongs here as much as one downtown or in the Valley. Listings are reviewed against the board's rules, and ones that break them are removed.
- Can a taco truck, street vendor or pop-up take a spot?
- Yes. Any business, event, organization or cause with a Los Angeles connection can list: a truck or a sidewalk cart, a weekend pop-up, a neighborhood festival or a nonprofit's fundraiser as much as a storefront. Each listing links to the sponsor's own site and is reviewed against the board's rules.
- What does a spot on the Los Angeles board cost?
- The minimum bid here is $10. You choose your bid, a service fee is added on top, and checkout shows the full total before you pay. To move up, raise your bid; you pay only for the raise. When a round closes, its final order is kept in the board's archive and a new round opens.
