From the host
This is the sponsored board for New York City: Manhattan, Brooklyn, Queens, the Bronx and Staten Island, plus the neighbors across the Hudson, up in Westchester and out on Long Island who come in to work, eat and go out. It's a city of corner places: the bodega and the bagel counter, the gallery up three flights of stairs, the jazz room in Harlem, the food cart with the same line every lunchtime.
It's for anyone with something New Yorkers should know about: a restaurant opening in the West Village, a bakery in Williamsburg, a gallery show in Chelsea, a Harlem jazz night, a summer street fair in Jackson Heights, a coat drive in the Bronx, a new shop on the Upper West Side or a service business in Astoria, St. George, Hoboken or Jersey City.
Every ranked listing on this board is a paid placement. Sponsors bid for a spot, and the order is set by one thing only: the total each sponsor has bid in the current round. Nobody is ranked by reviews, editorial picks or an algorithm. Outbid the listing above you and you move up; the next sponsor can do the same.
Each listing links straight to the sponsor's own site. Links are marked as sponsored, and every listing is reviewed against the board's rules.

Questions
- How is the order decided?
- By the total each sponsor has bid in the current round, highest first. Nothing else moves a listing: no reviews, no editorial picks, no algorithm.
- Is every listing an ad?
- Yes. Every ranked listing on this board is a paid placement, and each link is marked as sponsored.
- Can a business in Hoboken, Jersey City or on Long Island list here?
- Yes, if it has a New York connection. The board covers the five boroughs and the towns around them, so a cafe in Hoboken, a studio in Jersey City, a caterer on Long Island or a contractor in Westchester that serves the city can list. Listings are reviewed against the board's rules, and ones that break them are removed.
- Can a food cart, a pop-up or a block party list?
- Yes. Any business, event, venue, organization or cause with a New York connection can list: a food cart with a regular corner, a pop-up in a Lower East Side storefront, a block party in Bed-Stuy, a community garden's plant sale in the Bronx, a gallery opening in Bushwick or a nonprofit's drive on Staten Island. Point your link at the page that tells people where and when.
- What does a spot on the New York board cost?
- The minimum bid on this board is $10. You choose your bid, a service fee is added on top, and checkout shows the full total before you pay. To move up, raise your bid; you pay only for the raise. When a round closes, its final order is kept in the board's archive and a new round opens.
