    From the host

This is the sponsored board for Cleveland: the Forest City, the Land, on the south shore of Lake Erie, with the crooked Cuyahoga splitting it into the East Side and the West Side. One page where the city's businesses, events, venues and causes put themselves in front of people looking for what's happening locally.

Every ranked listing on this board is a paid placement. Sponsors bid for a spot, and the order is set by one thing only: the total each sponsor has bid in the current round. Nobody is ranked by reviews, editorial picks or an algorithm. Outbid a listing above you and you move up; the next sponsor can do the same.

Cleveland keeps its old nickname honest with the Emerald Necklace, the ring of Metroparks around the city, and the Cuyahoga Valley just to the south. Summer is for the lakefront and the Flats, fall for the trails, winter for lake-effect snow on the East Side. It is a city of parish festivals and Lenten fish fries, pierogi, Polish Boys and corned beef, Cleveland-style polka, and a public market in Ohio City that has fed the West Side for generations.

It's for anyone with something Cleveland should know about: a restaurant opening in Ohio City, a bakery in Tremont, a gallery show in Gordon Square, a cafe in Little Italy, a noodle shop in Asiatown, a pop-up market in Detroit-Shoreway, a charity drive in Slavic Village, a new shop in University Circle or a service business in Lakewood, Shaker Heights, Parma or Akron.

Each listing links straight to the sponsor's own site. Links are marked as sponsored, and every listing is reviewed against the board's rules.

    Questions

    How is the order decided?
By the total each sponsor has bid in the current round, highest first. Nothing else moves a listing: no reviews, no editorial picks, no algorithm.
    Is every listing an ad?
Yes. Every ranked listing on this board is a paid placement, and each link is marked as sponsored.
Can a business in Lakewood, Parma or elsewhere in Northeast Ohio list here?
Yes, if it has a Cleveland connection, East Side or West Side. A shop in Lakewood, a restaurant in Cleveland Heights, a clinic in Parma or a service business in Shaker Heights, Westlake, Euclid or Akron that serves Clevelanders belongs here as much as one downtown. Listings are reviewed against the board's rules, and ones that break them are removed.
Can a fish fry, a pierogi sale or a nonprofit list?
Yes. The board is for anything with a Cleveland connection: a Lenten fish fry, a parish pierogi sale, a food truck in the Flats, a trail cleanup in the Metroparks, a gallery night in Tremont, a polka dance or a coat drive on the East Side. Each listing links to the sponsor's own site, and every listing is reviewed against the board's rules.
What does a spot on the Cleveland board cost?
You choose your bid; the minimum on this board is $5. A service fee is added on top, and checkout shows the full total before you pay. To move up, raise your bid; you pay only for the raise. When a round closes, its final order is kept in the board's archive and a new round opens.
