1. Who this is for
This policy applies to everyone who uses OnTheList.Live: sponsors who bid for a placement, hosts who run boards, visitors who read a board or click a listing, and anyone who calls the sponsor API. "You" is any of them. It sits under the Terms of Service and the Host Terms, and beside the Prohibited Content Policy, which says what a destination may not contain. This policy says what may be done with a placement, and what ends one.
2. What a placement is for
A placement is a listing shown at its computed rank on a host's board for the rest of a round. It is for a lawful destination that you control or are authorised to promote, that is what it appears to be, and that stays what it was when you bought the placement. Every listing on a board is a paid advertisement, except two kinds of entry that hold no money and are labelled as such: a host's own house entries — unranked, in their own labelled section below every paid listing — and, on a board that resets, carried rows at $0, marked "Carried" and numbered below every paid listing: a courtesy copy of a listing from the round before, holding no money. Every destination link on a board is marked as sponsored.
3. What you may not do
Prohibited destinations. Do not point a placement at anything the Prohibited Content Policy refuses. Destinations carrying a word on our prohibited-keyword list are refused at submission; a destination on our blocked-domain list is refused at the click and the listing is queued for review.
Impersonation and lookalikes. Do not pass a destination off as someone else's: no lookalike or typosquat domain, no borrowed brand, title, image or icon, no listing that claims to be a business or person it is not. Each destination is compared at submission with recent destinations across the platform, and a resemblance is recorded for review.
Deceptive redirects and cloaking. Do not send a visitor anywhere other than where the listing says. We fetch the destination and follow its redirects once the listing's payment completes, unless we have checked it since the listing last changed hands; we re-check live destinations at least once a day, and again whenever a listing is reported; and each time we compare where it lands with where it was bought, and read the page's title and description for prohibited words. A destination that moves to another hostname, that lands on our blocked-domain list, or whose title or description carries a prohibited word is recorded and reviewed. Any other change of content behind the same hostname is not detected automatically; report it (section 5).
Click fraud and traffic manipulation. Do not click, or cause clicks on, a listing to inflate its count — by script, by paid clicking, by repeated clicking, or by any other means. Click counts are shown to the host exactly and to the public only as a rounded band; clicks we suspect are not genuine are counted separately, and that figure reaches nobody.
Paying into a listing you do not own. A listing belongs to the email address that paid for it. Only that owner may raise it, through their own magic link, or manage it, through the link or their sponsor account. Do not try to pay into, raise or take over someone else's listing, and do not enter a destination you do not control to block or displace its owner.
Circumventing the bid rules. Do not evade the board's minimum bid, its bid step, the cutoff at the end of a round, the platform's charge limits, or any hold or refusal the checkout gives you, and do not use a card, address or identity that is not yours to do so. The rules of bidding are in the Bid Rules.
Self-bidding by a host. A host, and anyone acting for a host, must not bid on that host's board, arrange bids to move a rank, or pay into any listing on it. House entries are the only way a host places their own destination on their board. The full rule is in the Host Terms.
Automated access. The sponsor API (/api/v1/boards/{slug}) is the one supported way to read a board by machine. It needs a key you mint from your sponsor account; keys are stored only as a hash, can be revoked by you at any time, and are metered per key and per network address (currently 600 requests a minute each). Do not scrape or crawl the site outside that API, do not share or resell a key, do not exceed or evade a rate limit, and do not use another sponsor's key. Every public surface is rate-limited per network address and per identity; a refused request is a refusal, not an invitation to retry harder.
Attacking the service. Do not probe, scan or test the service or its infrastructure without our written permission, attempt to bypass a security control, interfere with another user's access, send malformed or forged requests, or introduce malicious code. Report a vulnerability to hi@moretime.ai.
Abusing reports. The "Report a listing" link records a report for a person to read; it never takes a listing down by itself. Do not file false, repeated or automated reports to attack a rival or to burden the queue. A pattern of bad-faith reports may end your access.
Abusing email. A magic link is personal to the address it was sent to and to the listing it names. Do not forward, share or resell one, and do not request links for an address that is not yours. Do not use the service to send unsolicited mail, and do not subscribe an address that is not yours to outbid alerts.
Reselling a placement. A placement is bought for the destination on it. Do not sell, sublet, transfer or promise a placement or a rank to someone else, and do not run a service that bids on others' behalf without their authority.
Everything else the law forbids. Do not use the service to break any law, to infringe anyone's rights, or to harass, threaten or defraud anyone.
4. What ends a placement
A listing is in one of these states, and the words below are the ones the product uses:
- Pending review — a listing on a pre-approval board, held until the host approves it, its sponsor's card held and not charged. A held listing the round closes on unreviewed is rejected and its hold released: nothing is charged (Refund Policy).
- Active — on the board at its rank, while its total is above $0.
- Refunded — off the board — a paid listing whose total refunds brought to $0 (Refund Policy, rows 8 and 9). It is no longer shown or ranked, and its destination is open again to whoever pays for it first.
- Suspended — taken off the board by the host or by us, reversibly. A suspended listing can be reinstated to where it was. Its money waits; nothing is refunded while a suspension stands. No clock decides a suspension: it stands until a person reinstates or removes the listing, and the round ending does not decide it either — a suspended listing outlives its round, and once the round has ended reinstatement is no longer possible, so the only decision left is the money one. The one suspension that can end on its own is one a card dispute on your own payment caused: if the card network decides that dispute for the host, the listing is reinstated without anyone acting; if not, while the round runs, the suspension stands until a person reinstates or removes the listing — write to hi@moretime.ai and a person decides it; once the round has ended, the close of the last dispute on the listing decides it without anyone acting, whichever way the network decided — a listing never shown is declined (its payments refunded unless charged back) and a shown one is marked as ended with its round. While that dispute is open, your listing at $0 is held for the rest of the round: nobody can reinstate it at $0, and nobody can take its destination on that board until a new round opens it.
- Rejected — declined by the host in review: never charged when its card was only held, and refunded (row 3) when its payment was already taken.
- Removed — taken off the board permanently for the round. When the removal is for your own breach of this policy or the Prohibited Content Policy, nothing is refunded (row 2). When the removal was wrongful you are refunded under row 4 of the Refund Policy: a board suspension's refunds are issued automatically, and a single listing's by a person on platform staff after you or the host write to us.
- Round ended — the round ended and the listing is in the Round Archive with the rank it held.
- Carried forward at $0 — on a reset board, a listing carried into the new round; it holds no money, and it stays until somebody — its owner or another sponsor — pays the board's minimum bid for that destination, the host removes it, or the round ends.
A takedown for your own violation is not refunded, and it does not stop a chargeback from being deducted or a dispute from being lost. We may also disable your sponsor account, which stops every API key on it, refuse you the service and any future bid, and annotate the Round Archive where a rank was gained in breach of this policy. A host who breaks this policy may have a board suspended and the host account disabled under the Host Terms. Every one of these acts is recorded with who took it and when.
5. How to report
Every board's footer carries a "Report a listing" link. Choose the listing, choose a reason — misleading, prohibited content, malware or phishing, impersonation, or other — and, if you wish, say more. Your address is optional; we do not promise a reply, and without an address we cannot send one. A report is recorded and queued for a person, and it triggers a fresh check of the destination. It never removes a listing by itself.
For a trade mark or other rights complaint use the IP Complaint Process. Send a copyright notice to the designated agent named in the DMCA Process, which says what the notice must contain. For a security issue, or anything the form does not fit, write to hi@moretime.ai.
6. Changes
We may change this policy. A change is a new version string on this document, and the current version is always at /legal/acceptable-use. Using the service after a change takes effect is acceptance of it. A change never alters a placement already paid for: the rules in force when the payment completed govern that placement (Terms of Service, section 20).
7. Contact
Questions about this policy, a takedown, or a report: hi@moretime.ai. You may send us any notice by email to hi@moretime.ai; a notice the law requires to be served in writing goes to the postal address in the header. How to reach a person, including for a sponsor who has no account and only a magic link, is in Contact and Support.
